Kauai Moon - For Jon Wright

Kauai Moon for Jon Wright. A traditional Hawaiian slack key style guitar song. I wrote and recorded this to the sound of the waves under a Kauai moon in Poipu.

I heard about our dear friend Jon Wright's terrible accident while in HI and have been thinking of him every day. I haven't seen Jon in many years but he was one of my first true musical partners in high school. We had many great times together. Jon is a one of a kind soul - wishing him a full recovery and knowing he'll be playing in the oceans and mountains again soon.

Jon, I've always thought of you. I knew you were one of the few who truly followed their dreams and passions.

Music is a huge part of my blog. I'm interested in and play everything from jazz to alt-country, no depression type music. Right now I'm working mostly with acoustic instruments and singer/songwriter type sessions. We are trying to create a very natural, organic and independent music/sound that is true to multiple styles of music. You'll hear many of the instruments that have defined what has quickly become a national treasure: roots based, americana, alt-country music.

Apple Hill Studios is a small, warm room full of vintage pianos, guitars, drums, banjos, B3 and a Leslie speaker. My vision for this room is nothing more than to have a friendly and inviting atmosphere that inspires true music.

It's great to see people take a love for music and turn it into a passion for playing. Beginning to advanced lessons are available in piano, guitar and organ. Learn in a comfortable studio setting.
